Okay.....so I finally feel ike I am showing so I am going to share a picture. Today I am 17w 3d and we go for our big ultrasound next Tuesday. I am very anxious to find out what it is. I am even my excited to finally select a name. Even though I don't think Garrett had a name until I was about 8 months pregnant. So anyway, here you go........it is kind of hard to tell today with the dress that I have one but I will have more in the future.

The Sweetest Boy in the World!!

This morning right before I dropped Little Marshall off at school I checked his folder to make sure he did all of his homework (not that it would really matter then, we were already in the car) and he told me there was a note in there for me. And I looked at him with a stern face like he did something wrong because the only time there was ever a note in his folder was because he had done something wrong. So I am looking for this note for me in his folder and I get to the letter pictured about and he said "See there it is." I almost started crying but I said "Oh, Marshall, I love you too." He said I wanted to tell you but I couldn't. I quickly told him he could tell me anyting at any time and not to be afraid. Then I pulled up in carpool and he happily jumped out, said I love you then closed the door. As I watched him run into his school my eyes started to fill up with tears. He really is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened in my life!! I am so very lucky to be his mom!!

Of course I am going to keep this letter for the rest of my life but just in case it gets lost I have taken a picture so when he tells me at 17 that he thinks I am stupid and I am so mean that I can prove to him (and to myself) that he really did love me at one time :)

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great weekend and make sure you tell your mom, dad, sister, brother, anyone how much you love them or how great they are. It really makes them feel wonderful!! I love y'all!!!

Thanksgiving 2009

We had such a wonderful time over the Thanksgiving Holidays. This year we spent it in Meridian with my family. It has been a while since we have been there to see everyone. I am glad Tellie came down to stay for a while too. It seems like it went by so quickly! My dad worked most of the time so we didn't get to see much of him. I wanted to share a couple of photos I took over the holidays. I hope you enjoy. Now it is on to Christmas!!!!Here is Marshall manning the fired turkey that was DELICIOUS!!!
Here are the boys with their Great-Grandmother Tellie. She insisted on going shopping on Black Friday so I went with her and I think she had a great time. I think she just wanted to prove that she could handle it at 83 years old!!My roasted sweet potatoes I made. I think everyone liked them. I like them a lot better than sweet potato casserole!!I think the boys are getting excited for Christmas. They got out their Polar Express Train Set and played with it for a couple hours until they were on to the next thing.And finally on to Christmas. My parents have not put up a Christmas tree in about 3 years so I made sure they put one up this year. This is the final result!! Happy Holidays everyone!!

December 15th

So in just 3 1/2 weeks we will find out what has been swimming around in my belly for the past 15 weeks. I am so excited but I think the boys are way more excited than I am!! They pray for a sister every night. I have tried to talk to them about how much fun a boy would be too so they are not disappointed if it is a boy. We shall see. All of my friends with girls better send me some girl ju-ju!!! Love y'all and hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Finally Getting Excited

So I am 14 weeks pregnant with our third, yes, third child and as of now I have had a hard time getting excited. Not hat I am not happy we are adding to our family but for some reason it just hasn't really hit me until this week. And I have gone crazy...I bought a stroller/car seat combo this weekend off of Craig's List. I am so proud of myself because I got a stroller, car seat and 2 bases for $175!! Here is a picture of what I bought.

The woman had two of them so it looks like it has never been used!!!

I was also given a crib and some bedding. The bedding is a light green toile. It is only the bumper pad and the bed skirt. It has a zipper so the cover will come off. I think I might remove the ties and add some chocolate brown ties and get some brown sheets for the crib. Here is a picture of the crib.

It didn't come with the matress but the crib and bedding were a gift from my friend that has quads. She has also given me lots of other things and if it is a girl....we are set. My friend has 5 girls!! Amanda has also given me tons of stuff she no longer uses for Fisher and I appreciate that so much!!

I just can't believe it has taken me so long to feel like this! I just really want to know what it is so then I can really get started on planning things. I would love to actually decorate a nursery. We did not have a nursery with either of the boys and I sort of miss that. Although we would probably put the crib in our room until the baby got big enough to sleep in its own room anyway. It can still have a fun corner in our room and a dresser/changing table in another room.

We should find out in about 5 weeks what we are having. I go back to the doctor this Friday for my regular check up and then I will have a date for the ultrasound. I will let you all know as soon as it is scheduled.

Busy Busy Busy,,,,,,

We have been so very BUSY!! We made it through October! I now am the proud mother of a 7 and 4 year old!! It is so hard for me to believe my babies are that old. We made it through their birhtday party, we made it through Halloween, and I have ofically made it through my 1st Trimester!!!!

This is not a very good picture of us but it is the only one I have. I am going to try to be better about taking photos and putting them on the blog but I have been so busy. Last week I got to take a trip with my company and I flew on a private jet to Grand Rapids, MI, and had dinner in a Frank Lloyd Wright house that has been beautifully restored and then we toured the Steelcase furniture facilities and then came home. It was a whirlwind trip but it was a lot of fun. Especially after being a single mom for the last two months. It felt like a little mini-vacation.

I am so looking forward to the holidays this year. I am not sure why I am so excited but I am. I have most of my shopping alredy done for the boys. Unless they come up with any last minute things they just have to have......which I am sure they will. But I am done for the most part!!

I can't wait to be in Ocean Springs this weekend for Peter Anderson Festival! I hope to see everyone there!!

To My Super G!!

I don't really blog too much about my Super G! For those of you who know him, he is just the silliest thing you have ever met. He so much wants to be like his big brother in every way. So I have decided to let Garrett play soccer this year, just like Marshall. He is just so much fun to watch. I am so very proud of what a wonderful little man he is turning into. It is hard for me to believe he will be in Pre-K next year.

He love to play with legos and look at books (he tries to read them). He loves to play games with his brother and his best buddy Price. He loves to ride his bike and make guns out of anything he can get is hands on. He loves to snuggle with his momma. He loves his cat Dixie. Most of all he will eat anything you put in front of him.I love you Super G! You make me so happy!!!

So I am not as good at updating this thing as I thought I would be. I wanted to show you some pictures of the boys. MK started his first day of First Grade and I must say I have never seen a child more excited about school than him!!! I think it also helps that the girl he has had a crush on for the last two years is in his class.

On this note I have to tell you what he did to me. I noticed that he was starting to squint to see things and he was blinking a lot so during church I asked him to read things pretty far away and he said he couldn't see them. So I make him an appointment with the eye doctor and at the end of his appointment the doctor tells me he has 20/20 vision. Then Marshall looks at me and says "you got me." I said what do you mean "I got you?" He said I wanted to get glasses so Grainne (the girl his likes) would talk to me. I guess I have heard of boys doing sillier things to get a girl's attention.

As many of you know Big Marshall is out of town for the next two months doing away rotations. So this past weekend we went to Destin with our wonderful neighbors and had a fabulous time. Although we missed Big Marshall we still managed to have fun. But when we got home on Monday and were unloading who walks up but Big Marashall!! He came down to surprise us even if it was only for a couple of hours. I guess I haven't really realized how much the boys have missed Marshall until they wouldn't let go of him while he was here.

Two months will go by quickly and he will be home with us soon.

Pre-Season Opener

The boys and I got to go to the Saints on Friday. This was Garrett's first game and man he LOVED it!! He was so excited!! I was a little upset because I couldn't find out Saints jersey for him to wear. So he had to go in his spider shirt. We had so much funa nd ate just about everything they sell at the concession stand! Thanks Jeff and Anna for inviting us!!

Walker Family Vacation

We recently went to Destin, FL, with our wonderful neighbors. They have a family house there

that they use every summer. We were invited to join them for the 4th of July weekend. We did so many fun things!!! We went to Crab Island, we kayaked, we had a golf cart parade, watched a movie outside under the stars, had a water ballon fight, and so many more wonderful memories. I hope the boys will remmeber all of these fun things they get to do. These memories are so precious. I hope you enjoy the photos of the trip. It was such a blast. Thank you Jeff and Anna for allowing us to come visit. I can't wait for next year's cart parade!! We will take home that trophy!!

Fisher Ray Morgan

I never thought I would be this excited for the birth of someone else's child but I am!!! I think mainly because Amanda and Eddie met because of Marshall and I so we feel somewhat responsible for this beautiful baby!! He really is such a precious little thing and I could not be more pround of my friends!! They did an amazing job and will continue to do an amazing job.

I think the smile an Bid Marshall's face is priceless. He is so proud of that baby too! Congrats to Eddie and Amanda!! I love y'all and you make great babies!!

Time to Play Catch Up

Okay so I am so sorry that I have not posted in a while. But you will see that we have been very busy the last couple of weeks.

First I would like to start with an update on Mat Murphy. We had his fundraiser this past Sunday night and it was a huge success!!! We made over $200,000 for their family!!! I just can't tell you enough how much I love the New Orleans community. Mat was so inspired by the event Sunday that his rehab went really well on Monday and he has started to move his arms. He still has the infection in his leg and is using blood every day so please donate blood if you can. Here is a picture of the first time I gave blood. It wasn't that bad. I can't wait to do it again. It is such an easy thing to do and such a great cause.

Next up was the Coldplay concert!!!! This is what Marshall and I gave each other for our anniversary and it was so wonderful!!! I had the best time!!!!! I have not been to a concert in a very long time and I really enjoyed this one!!! We also saw Up in 3-D which was a blast!! The kids really enjoyed it. Here is a pic of all my boys and their glasses. They are so cute!!!!

I know there are so many other things I have missed. We have abusy couple of weeks coming up. This weekend we have Eddie's birthday, Reid's birthday party, Father's Day and a Baby shower to go to. Next weekend, I have two wedding showers for my friend Jennifer and a birthday party for Garrett's friend Ryan. Then we will be at the beach for vacation the weekend of the 4th. On the way back, I plan on stopping in Ocean Springs to see my first nephew, Fisher!! I can't wait to meet him. Then we have Price's birthday party and Jennifer's wedding the next weekend. Then our 10 year Class Reunion the next weekend and then Dana's Baby Shower and Jeff's Birhtday the last weekend in July!! Man I love summer and I love that we have so many people to go visit.

So my "little one" is not so little anymore!!! My baby graduated from Kindergarten today!!! I am so very proud of everything he has learned this year. He has learned to read, write his name, tie his shoes, ride a bike, and made so many new friends. I just can't believe how fast it went by. Of course I am going to show you some pictures!!

We are setting the date for the Murphy Family Fundraiser for June 14th!!! This will be a fabulous event with several of the City's most famous chefs!! I am truly excited for this event and I hope we have a great turn out!! Nola.com has a story posted about Mat so I encourage you to check it out here. So please please please mark your calendars. They think the cost wil be around $50 maybe $75 a ticket. But you can't beat that for all of the great food, wine, and the Grand Ballroom at the Ritz!!!! I know that sounds like a lot but you can help by volunteering to work at the event or give blood in Mat's name. I plan on donating this weekend!! And please continue to pray for Mat and all the Murphys that they all recover.

Long Crazy Week/Weekend

Okay, so I am sorry for not posting all this sooner but it has been very busy around our house lately. First I will start with an update on Matt. He hasn't changed much since Saturday which is good thing. Hopefully the no change will give his body time to rest and recover. He will have a long road ahead of him. You can visit their website and get updates at http://www.murphyquads.com/So last Thursday Garrett received his trophy for completing Coach Dave's baseball camp and he was so excited!! This is his second tophy!! I think G will be our athlete.
This past Friday Garrett had his End of the Year school play. They dressed up as safari people and sang "How Do You Ride a Dinosaur" It was too precious.
Then Marshall had his best Baseball game ever!!! He was given the GAME BALL for getting a kid out at Third and First and then he had two great hits!!!! I am so proud of you!!!! Well maybe both of my boys will be good at sports. After that my friend Angie and her son Reid came to visit. We went to see Night at the Museum, which was really cute. Then we went out to the Lakeview Area for Greek Fest. There the boys got to rock climb, eat hot dogs and run along the bank of Bayou St. John. All the while all the parents got to drink Greek wine and eat Greek food!!! YUM!!

On Sunday we got up and rode the streetcar downtown for breakfast and the aquarium. Breakfast was fabulous even though it took almost 2 hours!!! And the aquarium was great. We got to touch sharks and stingrays and we got to see a white alligator! So many things in one weekend!! Thank you Angie and Reid for coming to see us!! We had such a great time. That is two weekends in a row that we have gotten to spend time with you!! I hope we can do it more often!!!

Update on Matt

Friends of Matt and Alicia's met this evening to decide what can we do right now and what can we do long term. For the moment it was decided that the girls are the number one priority. So, to help Alicia out while dealing with Matt the girls will start at Sacred Heart Academy Daycare on Monday. This will actually be great for the girls so they can be around other children. They will learn so much. And to show how much people love Matt and Alicia the first two months of their daycare has been taken care of!! Plus money that was donated into the Capital One bank account that was set up today for them. I am just amazed that the generosity of people. You never REALLY appreciate what your friends will do for you until you need them. Tonight I witnessed such a beautiful thing between friends and coworkers. They all truly stepped up and plan to care for Matt, Alicia, and the girls in the manner that they would want the girls taken care of.

Matt will have surgery on his leg in the morning. Please pray that everything goes well. He has been having some organ failure but I find it very promising that they actually scheduled a surgery for the morning. Right now all I ask is that you Pray Pray Pray for this beautiful family but in the future they might need a little more help. So please continue to think of them and pray for them.

PRAY PRAY PRAY

My friends Matt and Alicia Murphy are the proud parents of 18 month old quads. They are the most precious things you have ever seen. You can see their story here. However, two days ago Matt was holding one of the girls and twisted his ankle on a toy. He thought nothing of it and then he started to come down with a cold/flu. He had a fever and was vomiting. Then he noticed his leg was beginning to swell. So he went to the hospital and they found that he has a blood disease called DIC which makes his blood continue to clot, those causeing the swelling in his leg. He also has gotten an infection in his leg and has become septic. He is having bad kidney functions and heart funtions. From what I have been told he has a 20% survival rate.

So please pray for this family! They need all the support they can get right now. A group of people are meeting tonight to make a calendar of things they can do and times they can watch to girls. I will keep you posted on Matt's progress but in the mean time PRAY!!!

What a Great Weekend

This weekend we were in Ocean Springs for Ms. Whitney Davis' birthday and I must say this was one of the most fun weekends I have had in a while. It was really laid back no plans really except the birthday party. We got to OS Saturday morning and went swimming, then we got ready to go to the party. At the party I saw one of my very dear friends and her son. I was so happy to see them and they wound up spending the rest of the weekend with us, which was a blast. During the party we came up with this great idea to go out, which now that we are all parents we don't do that often, so we just lived it up! We found a babysitter for Marshall, Garrett, and Reid (Angie's son) and went out on the town. Well we actually only went to two places but hey that is more than I usually got to in a month :) Angie and Reid stayed the night and the next morning when we woke up this is what I saw....Isn't that one of the most precious things!!! Angie and I were very good friends in high school and Reid and Marshall are only 4 months apart. When they met they were just instant friends. There is something to say about your children planning with other children they go to school with but when it is a dear friend's child it is just different but cool. It makes you happy inside that your child likes that child as much as you love your friend!!

On Sunday, I got up and walked across the Ocean Springs/Biloxi Bridge (something I have been wanting to do for a while) and while I was gone Angie and Marshall took the kids swimming. When I got back they were still just having the best time!! It was a wonderful weekend. Thank you Angie for spending so much time with us! I really loved every minute of it :) I alomost felt like we were back in high school just with kids :)

Then I just had to throw in a picture of my prerious G just because he is so darn cute!! Oh, and he got a hair cut so I need to take a picture of that for you too!!! Have a wonderful day!!

Happy 7th Anniversary to my wonderful husband. It really does not seem like it has been 7 years!! Every year you become a better husband, father, and friend. We have shared so much in such a short time...we have moved 9 times, we have lost grandparents, we have made new friends (not to say that I don't adore the old ones), and above all we have two of the most beautiful, loving boys anyone could ever ask for. We really do make GREAT babies!! I love you so much and I can't wait to see where we are 7 years from now!!! Happy Anniversary!

Trying to Keep Up....

Okay, so I haven't been so good lately on keeping you all informed with the goings on at the Walker's. WE have had LOTS of baseball!! We are only 2 weeks in to Little M's but I feel like this has been going on forever. G's last baseball practice is next Thrusday and he will get a trophey. I promise I will post photos of that. This week I have only cooked once in my house and it has been wonderful!!!!!! Monday night we cooked, Tuesday night Zachary's mom made us homemade tamales, Wednesday Erica had us over for BBQ Shrimp, and Last night we ate at WOW. AND tonight we are going to eat at Suprior Grill!!! I really hate cooking during the summer because it gets so HOT in our house. Yay for eating out!!

The boys and I will be in Ocean Springs tomorrow for beautiful Baby Whitney's 1st Birthday. I will be sure to share some photos of that when I return. I really hope she, more like her mama, likes what I got her :)

Busy Mother's Day Weekend

Hope all of you mothers out there had a wonderful, relaxing day. I know I did. I finished a book and took Garrett for a bike ride around the park. It was a wonderful day.

We had a great time this weekend....Full of Firsts.......Marshall's first baseball game of the season, Marshall's first time to ride a 2 wheeler by himself, Garrett's first (and certainly not last) bike trip around the park. That kid loved it!!

Friday night we hung around the house and had dinner with my most favorite people in the worls, The Combes. And we just took it easy that night.

Saturday we were at the ball field at 8 am. Here is a photo of my precious boys. They are just the cutest things I have ever seen...After the game we came home and I finally got a bike that I love and Jeff hooked on their old baby seat for Garrett to ride. While Jeff was doing that Little Marshall was learning to ride a 2 wheel bike. By the time we were done hooking up the baby seat Marshall had mastered the bike!! I am so proud!! Then I took Garrett for a ride around the park and he LOVED it!! We went around about 3 more times. Which that is 1.8 miles every time you go around. By the time Garrett gets tired of it I should have rockstar legs!!! Then we went to the Tulane baseball game but it was HOT so the kids and I came home and took a little nap. I woke up to Garrett asking me to go for another bike ride. So we did. Then....Saturday night we went to a BBQ at Lara and Slaton's house. We had a wonderful time with friends and the kids got to ride their scooters up and down the sidewalk. They were pooped at the end of the day!!

Sunday, I woke to Garrett asking to go for a bike ride!! I made him wait until at least 8 am before I got out of bed. I took him around the park and then came back and finished my book I had been reading. Which was great. Then I just sort of lounged around the house the rest of the day until we went to dinner at Alyssa and G's house, which is so precious!! We had a wonderful time!!

All in all it was a very nice laid back weekend. And I hope all of you mom's had a great one as well!!!

Courtland, Alabama

We recently took a trip to Alabama for a dear friend's wedding. On our way back Marshall really wanted to stop by Courtland, AL, (population 700) a place his great-grandfather helped found. We didn't have a lot of time so we just went by the church that we had heard so much about. We actually showed up right as service was about to start and Marshall got to meet 4 of his cousins. The church has a wonderful history but I won't bore you with that right now. I will however share some photos from the church. I hope you enjoy.

This is the exterior of the church. It was simple but very beautiful.

This sign tells you a little bit about the church. Note the Gilchrist Family Name.

The stained glass bove the alter was donated by the Gilchrist Family. The church burned once and only two of the original windows remained so the Gilchrist helped replace the windows and restore the church.This quilt was made by the ladies of the Confederacy. It has been around since the Civil War. It was so beautiful to see how quilts were made then. They were very elaborate.

I LOVE Craig's List

Now that the Derby Party is over I can finally get rid of my table that Marshall bought in Jackson and the chairs that we got on Craig's List for a fabulous deal!! We paid $100 for the table in Jackson and we paid $400 for our new table, chairs, and buffet.....I just sold the old table and new chairs for $200 so it is like getting my beautiful table and buffet for $150 each!!!! I LOVE Craig's List! I am totally addicted.

Marshall's First Black Eye

I have been thinking about starting a blog for a very long time....simply because there is just so much going on in our lives and I really want to share all of the fun things we do. Here is one perfect example.

Yesterday I came home from work. My children really want to go throw the baseball in the park. So my husband takes the boys to the park and my sister-in-law and I stay at the house. She is cooking dinner and I am still trying to put things away from the party this weekend. Dinner was about to be ready so I was going to go grab the boys and as I was walking down the stairs I saw the boys coming in. Little M is crying a little and then I noticed his eye! Marshall tells me to grab some ice and quick. So I go grad ice as fast as I can and that sends Little M into crazy mode. He starts crying, Aunt Aurora is holding him. I bring the ice and put it on his eye. This is what he looks like......My poor baby.....he is so upset and so he goes to look in the mirror. Anyone who knows my child knows he loves to look in the mirror at himself. He is mortified. He thinks this is his way ou tof school. He can't possibly bo to school looking like this.......So needless to say he gets whatever he wants the rest of the evening. And this is what he looks like a little later on........

And then this morning he did not want to get out of the car to go to school. He was so sad....all he wanted to do is cover his eye. And I had to laugh as he was walking in to the school because EVERY teacher stopped him to ask what happened......this was him right before he got out of the car.......

He was so mad at me for still taking his picture... I love you Little M!!

Okay, since I just truned 28 over the past weekend I have decided there are so many things I want to do in my life and things I want to be better at. The first of which is keeping up with my wonderful friends! And our frinds to try to keep up with us....the boys are getting so big and we are so busy the all of their activities so I am going to try to keep you posted about everything that goes on with us.

Since I am new at this please bear with me on how to add pictures and such. So I hope this turns out to be an enjoyable blog for everyone!!
